What United Federal Credit Union Does to Keep You Safe

United Federal Credit Union does everything possible to protect our members by constantly monitoring member accounts, ensuring that our members’ assets are protected. If fraud is detected we contact the affected member immediately and stop further activity on their card to limit the fraudulent transactions. Members are never responsible for fraudulent charges or related fees, and charges are refunded immediately when the report form is signed by the member.

Our Fraud Department is often aware of fraudulent transactions before they show on our members’ accounts, allowing them to stop fraud before it affects the member. United Federal Credit Union members are protected because of our proactive approach.

We also contact credit agencies and VISA to immediately intervene, further protecting our member accounts. These actions, working together provide the highest level of safety and security available.

If you believe you have been a victim of fraud, please call the credit union immediately at 888-982-1400 or call the toll free number found on the back of your VISA card (800-VISA-911) 24 hours a day.

Tips to Protect Yourself from Fraud

Imagine looking at your credit card statement and seeing charges you did not make. Not a good feeling! Here are a few simple steps to keep this from happening to you:

Review your credit report – A quick viewing can tip you off to credit cards that are not yours, but on your report.

Properly discard documents - Shredding your statements and credit card offers helps keep your personal information just that - personal!

Carry less cards - Try carrying only one or two credit cards.

Never write your PIN down - Memorize your PIN for safety.

Keep on Guard - Be careful when being asked for your credit card or social security numbers.
